A Middletown man was charged with larceny for illegally collecting over $21,000 from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program after allegedly failing to report his spouse's income, according to the Connecticut Division of Criminal Justice . Sophal Men, 48, was arrested this week by inspectors from the Statewide Prosecution Bureau of the Office of the Chief State's Attorney on a warrant from the Connecticut Department of Social Services investigative division. Men received $21,179 in benefits from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP, from April 2018 to March 2020 after failing to report his spouse's earned income, according to the warrant.
